3.Submitting Tips
3.1 How Tips Are Entered
- All tips are submitted directly through the app.
- For each game, players select the team they believe will win each match and then press SUBMIT Tips.
3.2 Monthly Tipping Is Optional
- Players may tip any or every round of the month, but must tip the current round.
- There is no requirement to complete all rounds of the month in advance.
3.3 Automatic Closing of Tips
- Tipping for each round automatically closes just before the first game of that round begins.
- Once the round has started, all tips are locked in and cannot be changed.
3.4 Default Tips
- All players begin each round with the AWAY teams selected by default.
- These default selections remain in place until the player manually changes AND SUBMITS them before the round closes.
4.Scoring Rules
4.1 Correct and Incorrect Tips
- Players receive 1 point for each correctly tipped match.
- Any match tipped incorrectly results in 0 points.
4.2 Drawn Matches
- Players cannot tip a draw.
- If an AFL match ends in a DRAW, it is counted as an incorrect tip for every player.
- No points are awarded for drawn matches under any circumstances.
4.3 Strickos Streak Scoring
- The Strickos Streak competition tracks each player’s longest run of consecutive correct tips across the entire season (including finals).
- A streak is the number of consecutive matches in which a player’s tip is correct.
- If a player’s tip is incorrect or the match ends in a DRAW, their current streak ends and a new streak begins from the next correctly tipped match.
- Default tips (AWAY teams) count the same as manually selected tips for the purposes of streaks.
- Only matches that are part of the official Strickos Pool tipping schedule count towards the streak.
5.Monthly Winners & Prize Sharing
5.1 Determining the Monthly Winner
- The monthly winner is the player with the most correct tips for that month.
5.2 No Tie‑Breakers
- There are no tie‑breakers of any kind for monthly competitions.
5.3 Shared Monthly Prize Pools
- If two or more players finish equal on total correct tips for the month, the monthly prize pool allocated to that month is shared equally among all tied players.
6.Registration & Login
6.1 Registration Process
- All player registrations are created and managed by the Competition Manager.
- Each player is assigned:
- Their name (as it will appear in the app), and
- A unique PIN number.
- Players do not create their own accounts; the Manager sets everything up.
6.2 Logging In
- To manage their tips, each player logs into the app using:
- Their name, and
- The PIN supplied by the Competition Manager.
- This login is required only once per device (see below).
6.3 Local Storage (No Repeated Logins)
- After the first login, the app saves the player’s name and PIN in local storage on their device.
- When the app is opened again, it automatically loads the player’s account and tips.
- Players do not need to log in again unless they clear their device’s storage or switch devices.
6.4 Trust‑Based System
- The competition is only open to close friends, colleagues, and family, so the system relies on trust and honesty.
- No advanced security measures are required because the Competition Manager personally knows all participants.
- Players are expected to use only their assigned account and PIN.
7.Contact & Support
7.1 Official Communication Channels
- The Strickos Pool app is the official source of truth for:
- Submitting tips
- Live progress scoring
- Round results
- Monthly standings
- Season-long Strickos Streak tracking
- All competition administration (rules, clarifications, payment confirmations, and important notices) is delivered via the group text message thread.
7.2 Social & Community Channels
- All participants are also part of the Strickos Pool 2026 WhatsApp group.
- The WhatsApp group is used purely for social chat, fun sharing, banter, and community vibes.
- Neither the WhatsApp group nor the group text thread should be relied upon for official scoring or results — the app is the authoritative source.
7.3 Round Reminders
- On the day of the first game of each round, the Competition Manager will send a group text reminder that tipping closes soon.
- These reminders are a courtesy; players are still responsible for submitting their tips before the round closes.
7.4 Support & Issues
- Any issues with logging in, PINs, app behaviour, or payment confirmation should be raised via the group text.
- The Competition Manager will address questions or problems as soon as practical.
8.Strickos Streak – Season‑Long Competition
- Strickos Streak is a season‑long competition that runs across all rounds and finals of the 2026 AFL season.
- The Strickos Streak winner is the player with the longest single streak of consecutive correct tips over the entire season.
- If two or more players finish equal on their longest streak length, there are no tie‑breakers; the streak prize pool is shared equally among all tied players.
- Only matches that are part of the official Strickos Pool tipping schedule count towards the streak.
- To be eligible to receive the Strickos Streak prize, a player must be fully paid for all months in which they submitted tips.
- The Strickos Streak prize pool is funded by 20% of all entry fees collected for the season.
- The Strickos Streak result is finalised and paid out after the completion of the finals competition.
- The App displays players streak progress but only after sufficient completed rounds. So at the start of 2026 only last years streak scoring shows. This will revert to 2026 scoring once there is a month of data.
